*Booking Policy update* PLEASE READ 

Harris Pond is a nickname for the property lived on by a family.  IT IS NOT A BUSINESS. 

We do not have operating hours or prices, and do not allow people to just drop in on us. 

We do often share with our extended family, friends and groups associated with our family. 

However, as the years go by and our family grows, the availability of our property for outside events will progressively decrease. 

We use the criteria below the calander to choose who will get a spot. 

We love seeing all our friends and neighbors, but we also love and want to have our family surrounding us, and we don't want to turn into a business, so

we will only be letting out 1 or 2 days (or less) in a week to groups that are not directly affiliated with our family. 

You may still try to email us starting on and after January 1.  We will look at them on January 2

of the year you want to come, but unfortunately,  there will be no guarantees that there will be enough places to put everyone that wants to come.

*PLEASE NOTE: We reserve the right for our family to use our facility at ANY time, regardless of who else might be scheduled during that time.

PS-Emailing is the best way to reach us for bookings. We look at emails first, and don't take phone calls on January 1st or 2nd.

  It is also advisable to give us 2nd and 3rd choice options, as many dates are requested by multiple people.

If your date is unavailable, and you have not given an alternate option, the calendar may fill up

before you have time to come up with another acceptable time.

Harris Pond Reservation Request Guidelines

As we are NOT a business, our number one priority in scheduling our place is to our immediate family and immediate extended family.

With this in mind, we use the following criteria to reserve a time spot at Harris Pond:

1. If you or your group are directly affiliated with an immediate family member (Jeff, Rebecca, or one of their children), and they are participants in your event, you may request, through them, a spot at any time.

2. If you or your group are affiliated with an extended family member (Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, 1st Cousins, etc.), and they are participants in your event, you may request, through them, a spot in December of the year before your event.

3. If you or your group are friends with or have someone in your group who knows someone in the Harris family, you may request a spot starting on January 2nd of the year you want to attend. We will only release a few days worth of spots to non family groups in any given week. So, if there is any time left, (after our family has scheduled), you will be given a spot on a 1^st come, 1^st serve basis. (*Note: We always look at emails before taking phone calls)

*We reserve the right to schedule any event, for personal reasons, at any time.

Other determining factors:

• Days will be split into Morning/Day and afternoon slots.  Some exceptions may be made for exceptionally large groups (over 150 people). This is to help accommodate the increasing number of requests  Also, groups smaller than 50 will be strongly encouraged to choose a day other than Friday or Saturday. 

• Please don't ask us to give spots out for small personal parties such as birthday parties or individual family outings.  While we love to share, we need to be careful that our yard doesn't consume our life and time for the entire summer.

• There will be no spots given out on Sunday's or Monday's.  These are Harris immediate family days only.

• Generally, overnighters are not permitted and are reserved only for groups whose participants are directly related to the immediate Jeff Harris family and a member of the Jeff Harris Family is a participant. 

  Exceptions:

  • Immediate Extended Family may request an overnighter in the middle of the week, but weekends will generally not be given out, unless an immediate family member is a participant.  This allows more people to have the opportunity to enjoy the pond, and helps us have time to water and maintain as well as minimize the wear and tear on the property from excessive traffic. 

  • Some exceptions will also be made for church or scout groups who want a spot in the middle of the week either early or late in the season.
